Man remanded over funding ADF

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Court has remanded to Luzira a man suspected of financing Allied Democratic Forces activities inside Uganda and in DRC.

Ronald Kayizzi who read charges related to terrorism financing and fundraising across a number of countries in the region which is contrary to section 9a 9(i), A, 4a of Anti- Terrorism Act.
The magistrate said the accused alongsideย Sulaiman Nsubugaย who was not in courtย fundraised money that they used to buy digital watches, power banks and other items delivered to ADF.
"You also recruited people into terrorism, took them to DR. Congo, while bearing in mind that what you did was to aid ADF rebels while knowing properly that ADF is a terror group."
Swalleh is also accused of belonging and professing to ADF as well a rendering support to the terrorist group, activities that he allegedly carried outย between April 2018, and 2024 while operating from Uganda, DRC, Zambia, Tanzania and Southย Africa.
He was however not allowed to take plea since he is facing a capital offence that can only be tried by the High Court.
Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi remanded him to July, 16 for mention of his case.
