“It is alleged that Rukundo and Kkonde have been lovers for two years and their relationship bore a child but recently, they developed misunderstandings prompting the wife to run away and start living with her aunt,” Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said.
He said that Rukundo started working with her aunt who operated a restaurant, adding that on Monday morning, Rukundo called the husband to his wife’s aunt threatening that something bad was going to happen to both families.
“Later the same morning, Kkonde picked a panga and beheaded Rukundo but as he attempted to flee, he was arrested by a mob that lynched him. Both bodies have been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the double murder commence.”
Onyango however warned members of the public taking the law in their hands when they get challenges in their marriage.
“If you get challenges in your relationship try to get someone to mediate the matter but in case one of you leaves the home, don’t follow them to force them to return . Let it be at their own wish.”
