She emphasized the importance of teachers upgrading their skills and preparing themselves to be exceptional educators who can be in demand both locally and internationally.
"As teachers, you must love and be proud of your profession. This is the only way you will receive respect from the public," Tushemerirwe stated.
"You must locally and intentionally prepare yourselves to be great teachers who can be in demand in Uganda and beyond," she added.
Wenceslas Maanige, the Executive Director of Broad Education Consult Limited, also cautioned teachers against facilitating examination malpractice. He encouraged them to work diligently to ensure students excel.
"Do not aid examination malpractice; instead, work hard to ensure that learners excel," Maanige said.
Maanige further urged teachers to maintain a positive attitude toward their profession, despite the challenges they may face.
"Love your profession, no matter the challenges you are facing," Maanige added.
This was the 19th edition of the Special Exam organized by Broad Education Consult since its establishment.
The initiative aims to help teachers prepare effectively for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and to familiarize primary school teachers with the new curriculum, including its coverage and new question formats, thereby improving education standards in Rukungiri District and Uganda as a whole.
