Pulse Radio is tailored to get the pulse of Gen-Z racing with unrivaled programming

"Pulse Radio is about empowering the youth, entertaining and educating them, making them wiser and cooler," said Kariisa.

The Next Media Group has relaunched the Pulse Radio platform, specifically tailored for the Gen-Z audience.

The launch took place at the Next Media Park in Naguru on Friday.

Uganda's population includes a significant number of Gen-Z (persons born between 1997 and 2012), estimated to be about 34 percent of the total population, according to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics' recently concluded National Housing and Population Census, whose results were released on June 27th, 2024.

From fresh insights and feedback gathered since the platform went on air, the team has refined their approach to better address the needs of their audience and secure the title of the go-to source for vibrant, engaging content, as revealed by Group CEO Kin Kariisa.

Kin Kariisa declared that the mission with the Pulse Radio platform is strong: to educate, empower, and entertain. With the new tagline, "On the Pulse," the platform is continuously evolving to ensure Gen-Zs stay current and relevant.

"Pulse Radio is about empowering the youth, entertaining and educating them, making them wiser and cooler," said Kariisa.

He expressed confidence that they are going to inspire and inform Uganda's young people like never before.

The Head of Radios at Next Media, Ben Mwine, echoed the CEO's message, stating that they were launching something very special and were thrilled because they are looking into the future.

"We are eager to address the needs of Gen-Z," Mwine said.

"The world is changing, and we must keep up with it. As Next Media, we are striving to stay ahead of the evolving environment and create products that cater to various demographics."

The platform is accessible on the Afromobile application and the MTN Pulse App.

The Group CEO, Kin Kariisa, concluded the launch by affirming the Group's commitment to create content for every segment of Gen-Z, just as they have done for other demographics through their various products and brands.
