Museveni to Intervene in GROW Project But Says Focus on PDM

The GROW Project has come under fire for failing to deliver on its promise of financial inclusion, with many beneficiaries unable to secure loans due to excessive requirements by banks.
President Museveni has pledged to address challenges surrounding the GROW Project, which has faced criticism over its implementation hurdles.
The President made the commitment during his visit to Kamuli Youth Centre in Kamuli Municipality, as part of his ongoing Parish Development Model (PDM) zonal tours in the Busoga sub-region.
Mr Museveni acknowledged the growing frustrations among intended beneficiaries of the GROW Project, a government initiative aimed at empowering women through accessible loan packages.
He noted that bureaucratic bottlenecks and stringent demands by banks had hindered many women from accessing the funds, leaving communities disheartened.
“I had been focused on PDM, but now I am going to ensure the GROW Project receives the necessary attention it deserves,” Mr Museveni said, promising to address the issues affecting the flow of funds and improve the program’s impact.
