Responding to questions about the incident, police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
He was however non committal on giving details about the investigations.
“Yes, a gun was pulled out but on the question of why and what are the implications, I will leave to the investigators since it is still ripe,” Tusoke said.
“By good luck, there was no bullet discharged and no person injured as a result of a firearm. The rest are manageable.”
Asked to confirm whether Ogwang is still in custody or he was released on bond, the police spokesperson said he didn’t have information in that regard but said investigations are continuing.
“It is good we disarmed him and no one was injured during the fracas.”
Previously, Ogwang was sent packing by the US government after being implicated in a domestic violence case.
He was in 2018 accused of battering his wife and was consequently declared unwanted by the US government in their country.
