Rastafaris join Christians in Kabale for Way of the Cross

A group of Rastafari in Kabale District have today joined Christians in the Way of the Cross walk, marking Good Friday.
The Good Friday sacred ceremony saw thousands of participants, including Rastafarians clad in their traditional attire.
The streets of Kabale town came alive as Christians from Kabale Diocese embarked on the solemn journey of the Way of the Cross, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Led by Rev Fr Fred Birungi of Christ the King Parish, the procession drew a diverse crowd, including an unexpected group: Rastafari.
Among the Rastafarians was Alex Tumusiime, aka Jah Born Rasta, who expressed his motivation for participating in the event.
Jah Born Rasta said he joined the walk to surrender his sins to Christ and seek forgiveness adding that they want to challenge the stereotypes that label them as individuals associated with negative activities in society.
"I joined this walk to surrender my sins to Christ and seek forgiveness. We want to challenge the stereotypes that label us as individuals associated with negative activities in society."
Jah Born Rasta emphasised the importance of faith, urging fellow Rastafarians to embrace Christianity and seek God's guidance in their lives.
His sentiments were echoed by Luke Zion and Moplex Mugisha, who invoked the wisdom of Bob Marley to emphasise the harmony between Rastafarianism and Christianity.
