Kiryandongo Councillor Beating: Six Arrested, Investigation Continues

Six individuals have been arrested in Kiryandongo, Uganda, following the circulation of a video depicting the assault of councillor Kangume Fred. The arrests were the result of a joint intelligence operation conducted by security forces.

Those arrested include Musa Farai, Matembu Sam, Medi Adam, Eliyasi Sam, Ndyanabo Zainab, Mathuma Alice, and Matalilo Issa. They are currently detained at Kiryandongo Central Police Station while investigations proceed.

Authorities are committed to apprehending all those involved in the attack, regardless of their status. Inquiries regarding the alleged involvement of General Taban Amin, mentioned in connection with the incident, should be directed to the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) due to his military affiliation.
