Government to construct new Busoga Kingdom Headquarters - President Museveni
President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that the government is set to construct a new Busoga Kingdom Headquarters at Bugembe in Jinja City. This is after the government spent 12 billion shillings to reconstruct the Kyabazinga Palace at Igenge.
Hosting the Kyabazinga of Busoga and Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi at State House Entebbe, the President also okayed the return of all the Busoga properties that are still in the custody of the central government.

President Yoweri Museveni together with the First Lady Janet Museveni on Friday hosted the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV and the Ihebantu Jovia Mutesi together with some Basoga subjects to a special dinner at State House Entebbe.
The dinner was specifically organized for the Kyabazinga to introduce the Inhebantu to the President and First Lady Janet Museveni after their Royal wedding held at Christ Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja in November last year.
Speaking at the diner, the President asked the Inhebantu to use her mathematical skills and experience in accounts to support the Kyabazinga in fighting poverty amongst Basoga through a 4-acre model system.
" I now want the Inhebantu to help me with her mathematical skills to educate the people of Busoga on the 4 acre model system as it's the only way fo fighting poverty since the land in Busoga is fragmented" President Museveni asked
The President who says he restored traditional institutions to have unity in the diversity also asked the Buganda Kingdom to stop suppressing other small tribes in the Kingdom and rather unite them.
"I told the people in Mengo that you should not suppress these small tribes like Banyala, Baluri, among others but rather embrace unity in the diversity" Museveni said
The President also used this opportunity to reveal how the Government is to start the construction of the new Busoga Kingdom Headquarters at Bugembe in Jinja City.
" I hear you people are happy that we have finished the construction of the new palace at Igenge in Jinja City, I have not been there since its completion but now we are going to look around for resources to start the construction of the new Kingdom Headquarters". President Museveni Said
On the request to have the Busoga properties returned, the President directed the Attorney General to start the process of returning all the properties that belong to the Busoga Kingdom.
On promoting development in Busoga, the President says three new roads are to be constructed are these are Jinja- Mbulamuti- Kamuli, Iganga- Luuka - Kamuli and Kamuli to Bukungu in the Buyende district.
Both the Kyabazinga and Inhebantu thanked the president for the support that made the Royal wedding fruitful.
The President also donated 100 cows to a new couple and 20 cows to the family of the Inhebantu for the better upbringing of the Inhebantu.
