PLU Accused of Interfering with Defense Committee's Work.

A storm is brewing in Uganda's Parliament after a section of legislators accused the leadership of the Patrick League of Uganda (PLU) of secretly meeting with Jotham Taremwa, the opponent of Wilson Kajwengye, the Chairperson of the Defense and Internal Affairs Committee.
The meeting has raised eyebrows, coming at a time when the committee is set to summon the Commander of the Defense Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

"We are concerned about the motives behind this meeting," said MP Luttamaguzi Ssemakula of Nakaseke South. "It appears to be part of a larger plan to oust the Defense Committee boss." MP Ronald Balimwezo of Nakawa East echoed similar sentiments, questioning the involvement of the Patriotic League of Uganda in the internal affairs of the committee.
The controversy surrounds a meeting between PLU Secretary General David Kabanda, PLU mobiliser Michael Mawanda Maranga, and Jotham Taremwa, who is set to contest against Wilson Kajwengye in Nyabushozi County.
The timing of the meeting has sparked speculation about the PLU's intentions, with some legislators accusing the organisation of interfering with the committee's work.
As the debate rages on, the committee's decision to summon Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has taken a backseat.
The General's presence is required to answer questions about his recent social media posts, which have sparked controversy.
However, with the PLU's alleged interference, the committee's work has been thrown into jeopardy.
