The Next Media chief executive dedicated the project to the memory of his late mother, describing her as a remarkable woman whose strength and values profoundly shaped his life.

Next Media Group chief executive, Kin Kariisa, has laid the foundation for a modern maternity ward at Rubare Health Centre IV in Ntungamo District, a tribute to his late mother whose legacy continues to inspire him.

Speaking during the ceremony, Kariisa reflected on his deep connection to Rubare, where he was born 48 years ago.

He dedicated the project to the memory of his late mother, describing her as a remarkable woman whose strength and values profoundly shaped his life.

The new facility will be named Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward.

Mr Kariisa was joined by his wife, Julie Kariisa, his children—Kin Kariisa Jr, Shaka, and Jamila —his brother, Chairman Mohammed Kariisa, and other community leaders.

Together, the family expressed their commitment to giving back to the community that nurtured them.

He said honouring his mother through this project was deeply personal, noting her role as his first teacher and guide.

Mr Kariisa described the initiative as a way to give back to the community that played a significant role in his and his family's lives.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Kariisa family, through the Kariisa Foundation, to uplift Ntungamo District.

Leaders and residents of Ntungamo District commended the Kariisa family for their unwavering dedication to the community.
