Enid Naginda, a waitress from Kololo, reported being attacked by thugs on motorcycles near Fairway Hotel in Nakasero.

The assailants, armed with a panga, stole her bag, which contained Shs 50,000 and a mobile phone.

In a swift response, Wandegeya Police officers apprehended 34-year-old boda boda rider Sserwanyiri Stephen as he attempted to flee with the stolen items.

Police recovered the victim’s phone, cash, and the weapon used in the robbery. According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, Sserwanyiri confessed to planning the crime with two others.

Following his confession, police tracked down and arrested 24-year-old Mukisa Robert, recovering another motorcycle (UFJ 348M) used in the robbery.

A subsequent search of the suspects’ residence uncovered a military-style hood, further linking them to the crime.

The suspects were taken to several crime scenes for reconstruction, and their case files are currently being processed. They are expected to appear in court soon.
