Five UPDF  soldiers  have sustained injuries in an accident on the Kisoro-Rubuguri highway.

The victims encountered the accident as they were on the way to Rubuguri playground from  belated women’s days celebrations in Kisoro district.

The accident happened at Kamenankuli close to Rubuguri playground when a Uganda Prisons  truck registration number UG 0144U that was carrying the soldiers lost control and overturned multiple times.

According to Joshua Ainembabazi, an eyewitness said, “The truck driver was on high-speed  when he lost control of it."

Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesperson confirmed the accident, adding that the victims are currently receiving treatment at Rubuguri Health Center IV.

Rubuguri-Kisoro Road is located in Bukimbiri constituency.

With hilly landscape, Bukimbiri constituency, is known for agricultural as one of the sources, however the constituency has got poor road network.
